What does Grade A Shea mean- Grade A means that the Shea has been tested for purity, contaminants and active compounds by the American Shea Association and been found to comply with the highest level of checks. The Shea is pure and uncontaminated and contains the highest level of active substances that are beneficial to your skin. Grade A is hard to obtain and there is only a couple of sources in Africa.

This shea is not certified organic but the cooperative involved are currently in the process of obtaining Organic certification.
