Our favourite Green Smoothie recipes

Choose your favourite set of ingredients below, and blend until smooth.

  • 2 oranges juiced
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 bananas
  • 8 romaine lettuce leaves

  • 5 cups watermelon
  • 1 cup water
  • 8 romaine lettuce leaves

  • ½ pineapple cut into chunks and core removed
  • 2 bananas
  • 2 cups water
  • ½ bunch fresh mint
  • ½ bunch fresh lemon basil

 

Strawberry Short Cake

  • 2 punnets strawberries
  • 1½ C almonds (soaked and then dehydrated optional)
  • 1C medjool dates (soaked)
  • pinch Himalayan salt
  • dash of Avocado oil (or any cold pressed organic oil)
  • Slurp of raw honey or agave if you have it

Whiz everything except strawberries in food processor and then crumble into bowl. Chop or slice 1 punnet strawberries and sprinkle over almond crumble. Whiz up 1 punnet strawberries and then pour strawberry sauce over strawberries and almond crumble. Mix a little and enjoy.

Nut and Seed Milk

Soak 1 cup of nuts or seeds overnight.

Drain nuts or seeds and place in the blender. Add 1 cup of water and whiz until smooth adding more water if needed. Add water to make a desired consistency up to another 3 cups or more.

Sunflower, brazil nuts and macadamia nuts don’t need straining if they have been blended long enough. Other nuts like almonds will need to be strained. Keep any left over pulp and add it to porridge or other cereal.

 

Chocolate Milk

You can add lots of other yummy things. For me I like maca powder. To make choc berry add a handful or 2 of soaked goji berries.

 

Banana Ice Cream

Peel and chop into chunks a few ripe bananas. Place in a covered container and freeze overnight. Put your frozen banana through your single or twin gear juicer with the blank plate on. You’ll be amazed at how it tastes like delicious creamy ice cream.

 

Raw Pasta Sauce

  • ½ cup soaked sun dried tomatoes
  • 2 or 3 chopped ripe tomatoes
  • 1-2 large dates
  • a handful of basil leaves
  • salt and pepper optional

Add a dash of cold pressed flax or olive oil to your blender. Turn it on and add garlic cloves to taste. Blend until smooth. You will have a jug of pinky red raw sauce. Add to zucchini noodles or cooled pasta.

Zucchini Noodles

Using a potato peeler peel zucchini until the whole lot is in ribbons.

 

Chocolate Nut Balls

Place nuts in the food processor and whiz until fine and add other ingredients. Roll into small balls and roll in coconut.

With this recipe you can really play with it. We sometimes add chopped nuts, raisins or sultanas or even goji berries before rolling into balls.
